Not just a newsletter

Newsletter Management, and a little bit about the work I love to do.
In my latest blog, I wanted to share a special case study, about a lady who does amazing work.
For all my clients, I treat their business like it's my own; I get stuck in and want to be a part of that business. I seek to - and am fortunate enough - to have built collaborative, honest environments with clients such as Amanda Jackson.
For this blog, I wanted to build a picture of the type of Newsletter Management service I provide as a VA, and the wider value a newsletter can provide for your business.
Amanda’s Newsletter – From Idea to Reality.
Amanda is the Founder at Beacon Mental Health Training and is a Mental Health and Neurodiversity Trainer.
She delivers training to individuals and organisations, to build on their awareness of mental health and neurodiversity in the workplace, giving them the tools and techniques to support their employees and teams.
Amanda had already thought through what she wanted from her newsletter. She wanted;
to publish it on a monthly basis
to aim it at her existing and potential customers
to be accessible and easy to read (for example she’d done some research and found that text with a lighter coloured background was easier to read for people with dyslexia).
it to merge seamlessly with the rest of her branding and online presence.
The newsletter has now been running for over a year. Amanda provides content such as top tips and myth-busting common statements surrounding mental health and neurodiversity, explaining why they are false. She'll also give updates on her business, for example, what’s been happening in her world or any charity work or notable events she wants to share with her network. What's more, the newsletter is informative and engaging, with an easy-to-read, light-hearted tone of voice. | ![]() |
Newsletter Management - The Process.
Having met Amanda through my Business Buzz network, she wanted someone consistent to help her run and implement her ideas for the newsletter.
Knowing that the newsletter needed a strategy and system in place to manage, I've since created and built a step-by-step process where a range of tasks are provided, including -
Proofreading, reviewing, and editing Amanda's copy content and images.
Downloading recent training attendees and contacts and adding to the subscriber list, so that the audience continues to grow in the present.
Uploading the newsletter to Beacon Mental Health's website as well as releasing it for email.
Sending a PDF and link to the newsletter, providing easy access for Amanda to share the newsletter on social media and with new prospects.
Content Library, Spreadsheets and Archives.
All previous and current newsletters are also archived in Amanda's document management system as well as the archive library being available on her website.
All the content is copied into a managed spreadsheet, including feedback gathered from Amanda’s clients.
With these content management systems in place, Amanda can now create blogs from past newsletters, moving sections and creating new material as she pleases, whilst ensuring she doesn’t duplicate any content.
In summary, my aim was to get the most value from the newsletter and to ensure that it was easily accessible, managed properly, and that no prospects were lost. The management of such a newsletter goes beyond proofreading and uploading of content, and I am pleased to say that Amanda is really happy with the management I provide for her. Amanda has also received some great feedback on her newsletter from her clients, and people have been forwarding it on to colleagues. It's proving to be a valuable tool in her business marketing.
Creating as much value as possible and ease regarding her newsletter is something I really enjoy doing, and I thrive on the creative freedom to run and manage this for her.
If you are looking to start a newsletter, drop me an email and let’s talk about how I can provide a similar service for you.
