A Happy Halloween from Boey VA
and some spooky events that are happening this year
Would I call myself the biggest Halloween fan out there? No, probably not! However, the kids do enjoy it, and this year I’ve had a really fun client project that’s given me a bit of Halloween fever. So, I thought I’d mention some of the cool stuff going on this year that I’ve heard about.
👻 Spooks for a great Client
I arrange a team social event every quarter for one of my clients. She loves Halloween and asked me to arrange something spooky for October! As a team of ten based in South London and my base being Birmingham, I had to do a bit of research on London based events and found;
A Ghost Tour in Kew Gardens, including a themed light trail, and Halloween-themed snacks. Halloween at Kew | Kew
A Halloween Tour around Kingston Market Place (due to be re-opening after a recent fire on October 6th, do check online).
The client has however, gone for a spooky-themed pub quiz local to the office, with Halloween-themed drinks and costumes, preferring an indoor, warmer event as winter properly sets in! There's also a competition for the best spooky costume!
🎃 Spooks for the Family
With two young boys, we go trick-or-treating each year and do a spot of pumpkin carving at home too. A few years ago, we followed the #Scarewood Halloween Trail Map in Bearwood, Birmingham, organised by the local community group. A fun and local initiative, you can expect costumes and open trick-or-treating from residents, plus lots of decorated homes to enjoy!
I thought the Harry Potter experience was worth a mention here too, as we went as a family went a couple of years ago and had an amazing time. They decorate the Great Hall with pumpkins and spooky stuff and have trick-or-treat trails. There may also be a few death-eaters in your midst - watch out! It was a great family day out!
